Dhani Majhi
Dhani Majhi is a skilled artisan from Odisha belonging to the Bhatara tribe, renowned for her exquisite mastery of traditional paddy craft. Requiring painstaking effort and taking up to ten days to complete, her handcrafted masterpieces embody a unique, intricate folk art that utilizes unhusked rice grains (dhana), bamboo, and colored threads to create detailed icons (murti). Known as Dhana Murti, her serene works bring to life sacred deities—including Goddess Lakshmi, Krishna, and Lord Jagannath—along with animals like peacocks and elephants, as well as delicate household decorative items that celebrate Odisha's rich indigenous cultural heritage.
