Shashank Bharadwaj

Shashank Bharadwaj is a Mysuru-based traditional artist known for his expertise in Mysuru (Mysore) Painting, a classical South Indian art tradition celebrated for its intricate detailing, devotional themes, and refined gold embellishment. He was born into a family of musicians and developed an interest in painting from an early age.

Shashank began pursuing painting professionally in 2011 and has since dedicated himself to studying, practicing, restoring, and preserving traditional Indian art. His work reflects a deep engagement with classical texts, traditional iconography, and the techniques of the Mysuru painting tradition.

Alongside creating original artworks, he has restored works by several renowned artists and has created paintings for private collections in India and internationally. His work has been exhibited at events including the Mysuru Dasara Art Expo, ChitraSanthe, Art House Bangalore, and World Art Expo Dubai.

He is also passionate about teaching and preserving the tradition, conducting workshops and mentoring emerging artists. His achievements include the titles “Kala Tapasvi” and “Ovia Chemmal,” and he is recognized as an authorized artist with the Government of India’s Handicrafts Commission.
